Communication: The number one skill couples need to have a healthy, fulfilling relationship. Many of the clients who contact us say, “My partner and I can’t communicate.”
Lack of communication makes it difficult to get your needs met and have productive conversations. The result of poor communication is unresolved conflict, which turns into resentment. It is a recipe for distance and detachment.
This week, we are going to focus on Listening. Sounds easy but in actuality it is not. Therapists take courses on listening. I used to teach an 8-hour class on active listening to management in corporate America.
