This month we’re talking about what Bob and I learned from the “Masters” at the Psychotherapy Networker Symposium.

In today’s article, I am sharing the most important love lesson from Dr. Sue Johnson, author of:

Hold Me Tight – Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love

Love Sense – The Revolutionary New Science of Romantic Relationships

I attended three sessions with Sue. Besides being a phenomenal speaker, she is one of the most renowned relationship experts in the world on attachment and bonding in the field of couples therapy.

Sue is one of the founders of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) which Bob and I use in our practice.

In addition, she is the founding Director of the International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy.

In this short video, Love Sense: from Infant to Adult, Dr. Sue Johnson and Dr. Edward Tronick, developmental psychologist, well known for his studies of how infants connect, describe how we learn to love and connect from the time of infancy through the time of adulthood. Check it out and think about how you can apply this to your relationship.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about about bonding and connection on our Facebook page.
