4 Communication Habits That Lead to Divorce

In the 1970s, John Gottman set up his "Love Laboratory" to find out what leads couples to divorce. They invited couples to the lab to study the way they communicated and followed the couples for years. The results led them to be able to predict with 93% accuracy which couples would stay together, and which would divorce. One of their findings was what they named "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" -- the four communication habits that lead to divorce.

  2. Contempt

  3. Defensiveness

  4. Stonewalling
