Mars, Venus and Money

Is there still a divide between men and women when it comes to money?Though a majority of women have been earning money in the workforce for half a century, Mars and Venus are still operating when it comes to money.As we were preparing for our presentation, The Great Divide - Women, Men & Money, we came across many studies on this issue. Here are some of the results:

  • Married couples divide tasks along traditional gender lines, i.e. women handle the day-to-day financial management and decision-making, while men handle the long-term investing.
  • Women are still earning less money than men, about 77¢ on the dollar.
  • The more money a woman makes the more likely she will be involved in financial planning and investing for the future.
  • Women are under-confident about their ability to invest wisely, while men are over-confident.
