Wake Up Your Relationship in 2013

“The highest happiness on earth is marriage.”- William Lyon Phelps

Or shall we say, the highest happiness on earth “can be” marriage.

  • Do you take each other for granted?
  • Is your partnership at the bottom of your “to do” list?
  • Has your relationship become stagnant or fallen asleep?

New Year’s is the perfect time to make some changes that will wake up your relationship. You can begin anew, refresh your energy, be more aware, intentional, mindful, deliberate and cognizant of your connection. The key is to shake things up and do something different. Like what, you ask? Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Sleep in the nude.
  • Find a project to work on as a team.
  • Volunteer together for a cause you both believe in.
  • Take lessons together - dancing, skiing, horseback riding.
  • Sign up for a class together - investing money, history, politics, cooking.
  • Go out with friends you don’t know very well.
  • Make a candlelight dinner at home.
  • Go on a couple’s retreat for a weekend.
  • Take a shower together.
  • Read a book about sex and try something new.
  • Dream about your future together and discuss how to make it happen.
  • Made a bucket list of things you want to do and places you want to go, and plan them.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of taking your relationship for granted.
