Consciously Create a Daily Love Connection
The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard, but must be felt with the heart. ~ Helen Keller
When a couple comes into to our office, we feel three "beings" enter the room, the two partners and the "relationship." It's always been fascinating to us how we can feel the energy of the partnership before a word is spoken. Too often couples come in after having drifted along for years, neglecting their marriage, or having built up so much unresolved anger and resentment, the wall between them is palpable. So just what is that invisible energy? It's a dynamic state of being between two people: an intangible bond represented by the behavior towards and feelings about one another. And it is something you CAN create or improve. We can't directly change this energy but we can control our actions and our dialogue. If you're feeling distant or disconnected from your partner, talk about it or do something small to express your love; a hug, a note or a few kind words can make all the difference. If you are angry at or resentful towards your partner, ask to have that conversation to clear the air or write a letter to him/her and express your thoughts. Then forgive and let go.Make a habit of taking a couple of minutes each day and ask yourself, "How is our partnership feeling today?" Then choose to do a small act of love that will create positive "energy" between you. Bob always says, "If you want to feel connected, do connecting things." Make a conscious effort to create a love connection every day.
Love is more than three words mumbled before bedtime. Love is sustained by action, a pattern of devotion in the things we do for each other every day. ~ Nicholas Sparks
