Relationship Evolution Part III: "Hormone-Speak" - Use It or Lose It
Relationship evolution is the never-ending, continual process of consciously creating the head, heart, hormones connection through the ongoing actions and words exchanged between two people.Hormones speak, too. Though the head-heart connection is vital to a relationship, you can have those connections with close friends or family members. What makes a marriage or partner relationship unique is the sexual connection, i.e. the hormones.The relationships where head, heart and hormones are aligned and working are the most extraordinary and the most evolved partnerships.When hormones are a source of contention or non-existent, and sex is not integrated into the head-heart connection, the love relationship evolves into "best friends" or "business partners. Best friends mean a great head-heart connection but no passion; business partners mean smooth running of the household but the emotional and sexual connection are lost.And while many people live in these types of relationships, at some point one partner is likely to become dissatisfied and will have an affair or want to end the relationship. Often it is not until this point that couples seek out therapy.In your relationship evolution, if the sexual connection has faded or disappeared, take action to bring it back. It won't just happen by itself.
